Overview
The Lifestyle Medicine and Wellness Coaching Immersion from Harvard Medical School Executive Education is an in-person, two-day program designed for health and wellness coaches, clinicians, and professionals seeking a rigorous, science-based approach to whole-person health. Hosted on the Harvard Medical School campus, this immersive experience translates cutting-edge lifestyle medicine research into practical strategies that support physical vitality, emotional well-being, and mental resilience.
As chronic stress, suboptimal nutrition, sleep disruption, and burnout increasingly affect personal health and professional performance, this program provides a structured framework for meaningful, sustainable change. Participants gain evidence-informed tools grounded in lifestyle medicine to help restore balance, improve energy, and support long-term health across diverse populations and settings.
The curriculum is organized around the six core domains of lifestyle medicine: nourishing nutrition, regular physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management and resilience, positive social connection, and the reduction of high-risk behaviors. Under the leadership of Elizabeth Frates, MD, FACLM, DipABLM, and featuring expert faculty and guest presenters, the program combines academic instruction with interactive learning. Participants engage in applied experiences such as culinary demonstrations and movement-based activities that reinforce real-world application.
By the conclusion of the immersion, participants are prepared to integrate lifestyle medicine principles into clinical care, organizational wellness initiatives, and health-focused products or programs. Whether guiding individuals, supporting teams, or shaping community-based wellness efforts, this Harvard Medical School Executive Education program equips participants to lead credible, evidence-based lifestyle and wellness transformation with confidence and impact.
This program does not grant academic credit and does not provide certification as a professional coach. This non-degree program offers a certificate of completion to participants who meet the program requirements.
