About
Liza Wick earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Columbia University and went on to obtain a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During their doctoral studies, Dr. Wick conducted research that advanced the understanding of ubiquitination mechanisms, specifically focusing on how viruses hijack human E3 ligases. Prior to joining HMX, Dr. Wick developed and taught various courses, from foundational general chemistry to innovative biology classes designed to engage non-majors. At Harvard Medical School, Dr. Wick serves as the Pharmacology Curriculum Lead for HMX, where they develop courses on advanced pharmacology topics, such as Drug Discovery and Biomarkers. They are passionate about utilizing active learning techniques and emphasizing real-world connections and the scientific discovery process to make complex scientific concepts accessible to diverse audiences.
