About

Dr. Jeremy B. Richards serves as the Course Director for the “Training to Teach in Medicine” certificate program offered through the Office of External Education at Harvard Medical School. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medical Education at Western Atlantic University School of Medicine, a new, innovative medical school in The Bahamas, where he has helped develop curricula, implement active teaching pedagogy, and learning support services. He concomitantly serves as the Director of Education for ScholarRx, an online medical education and medical technology learning company.  

He has been active in the American Thoracic Society (ATS), helping to develop many faculty development activities for the ATS International Conference and serving in educational leadership roles in the Society, including serving as the chair of the Members in Transition and Training Committee as well as the co-chair of the Critical Care Pillar of the Fellows Track Symposium. He is also the past co-Chair of the Interventional Medical Education Working Group, and the immediate past Chair of the Section of Medical Education at the ATS, which has over 3500 members and drives medical education activities and innovation within the ATS

In his clinical practice, he is a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician with over a decade of experience caring for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. In medical education research, his interests include medical learners, critical thinking, cognitive biases, and clinical reasoning, and he has designed, implemented, and published numerous studies on these topics. He is a co-author on over 80 PubMed-indexed manuscripts, and his H-index is 27.
