It used to be that surgeons rose within their organizations almost entirely on their technical skills. However, in today’s more complex health care institutions, leadership, management, and business skills matter equally.

Harvard Medical School's Surgical Leadership Program is designed for surgeons seeking to acquire the nontechnical, executive skills needed to step into leadership positions and excel as heads of departments, divisions, projects, and institutions.
